CDM Smith is hiring for Mechanical Engineer 5

• ME or BE in Mechanical Engineering with 12 to 15 years of Experience (Preferred)
• At least 7 to 10 years of experience in water/wastewater process mechanical engineering for municipal or industrial clients
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineering (CEng) License
• Independent player with high self-motivation
• Experience on International Projects will be added advantage

Working independently, provides oversight and expert technical guidance on moderate to highly complex engineering designs involving piping system hydraulics and pump system hydraulics including hydraulic modeling and calculations, equipment vendor coordination, development of detailed design drawings and specifications, and construction submittal reviews. Successful candidate will have demonstrated experience on below listed areas.

• Detailed mechanical design experience for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance system.
• Large pump station design and large diameter pipeline design.
• Specialized in pump selections and developing mechanical specifications.
• Design implementation of rotating equipment and process treatment equipment
• Surge analysis and design will be added advantage
• Pipe stress analysis and pipe support design and drawings
• Experience using AFT Fathom or equivalent software for pumping network
• Ability to generate and understand P&ID's
• Familiar with the principles of energy auditing, and experience with energy modeling software
