MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent practical experience in Data Engineering
Strong background in at least one of the following: distributed data processing, software engineering of data services, or data modelling
Proficient in at least one major programming language (eg. Python, Scala,Pyspark)
Proficient in engineering data pipelines using big data technologies (Spark, Trino, Airflow) on large scale data sets
Proficient with Jupyter Notebook or similar.
Conceptually familiar with cloud resources (S3, Kubernetes)
Extensive experience working within cross-functional, agile or continuous delivery teams
Experience with migration to Cloud Technologies will be an added advantage.

As a Data Engineer in the Data Portfolio tribe you will be responsible for designing and creating data processing solutions that enable value from analytic models to drive rapid decision making.
A key element of this is driving the data engineering agenda within the Tribe, ensuring delivery of best practice end-to-end data engineering respecting ANZ architecture standards.
You will challenge inefficient engineering practise in ANZ and influence change in your field to drive better business outcomes.
To this end, in the role you will implement smart and relevant data engineering to drive E2E application delivery and support the uplift of data engineering capability in Tribe, while linking into the wider Enterprise Analytics roadmap.
