Job Overview

The position provides electrical, and control & instrumentation (C&I) engineering support to project management and operations through the engineering and production cycle.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
  • 6 -9 years relevant experience in pumps industry is mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of the IEC, ATEX, ISA, UL codes
  • Basic knowledge of Control System, Instrumentation and Electrical machines
  • Basic knowledge of Communications networks
  • Familiarity with rotating machinery such as Pumps & Compressors
  • Functional knowledge of Unit Control Panels, PLC, Local Operator Panel, Variable Frequency Drive, Electrical Motors, Anti-surge and performance control system, Machine monitoring and protection system (Bentley Nevada) Instruments, JBs, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand Control system and Electrical drawings
  • Ability to work as part of a project team consisting of senior level staff, CAD technicians, and field engineers
  • Ability to work with supervisor to effectively complete routine tasks
  • Ability to work with more experienced instrumentation and control engineers to apply standard textbook instrumentation and control design and analysis approach
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills that are well organized and persuasive
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft office, AutoCAD, MS-Visio

Job Description

  • Study project specification / documents and develop the Bills of Material for control system / instrumentation / JB / cables / LOP / MMS Panel etc
  • Candidate should be able to read and Interpret the P&ID. Assists in the development of P&ID's and associated I/O
  • Candidates need to provide correct inputs for CAD Designer to generate various panel drawings such as PLC Panel, MMS Panel, Local operating panel
  • Assists in control systems designs and in the development of control system networks
  • Review and understand Project requirements and support in procurement of Control System, Instrumentation and Electrical items
  • Prepare RFQs for sub-suppliers. Review & Finalize sub-supplier quotations
  • Handle equipment such as: Unit Control Panels, PLC, Local Operator Panel, Variable Frequency Drive, Electrical Motors, Anti-surge and performance control system, Machine monitoring and protection system (Bentley Nevada)  Instruments, etc.
  • Selection of instruments (transmitter, gauges) for the centrifugal compressor, Pump packages.
  • Effectively plan, schedule, manage & report on multiple projects with various deadlines & responsibilities levels
  • Occasional Site or Customer visits, FAT support
