Job Overview

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full time Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Chemical Processing Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in commissioning and automation, including application programming using IEC61131 languages.
  • Hands-on experience with various fieldbus protocols such as Profibus, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, and Foundation Fieldbus.
  • Preferable knowledge of ABB 800xA systems with at least 1 year of hands-on experience.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, project leads, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage input document collection, document control index referencing, and site handover processes.

Job Description

  • Handling projects independently under the guidance of a Project Lead Engineer, ensuring completion of engineering and commissioning activities.
  • Conducting site visits, with domestic travel exceeding 70% of work time.
  • Developing graphics as per P&ID requirements and creating logic based on customer documents.
  • Preparing IO lists, supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and closing punch points before material dispatch.
  • Conducting power-on tests, loop tests for all IOs, and functional tests as per Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures.
  • Leading pre-SAT and SAT activities at customer sites, including trial runs and punch point completion.
  • Coordinating with customers for site activities and ensuring compliance with ABB HSE policies.
  • Providing input to the hardware team for preparing As-Built documents.
