The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) is an autonomous medical institute located in Shillong, Meghalaya, India.Established in 1987 by the Government of India, its objective is to function as a postgraduate medical institution akin to AIIMS in New Delhi and PGIMER in Chandigarh.It was the first postgraduate medical institute in the North Eastern region and the third in the country established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
