Job Overview

We are seeking a Package Engineer to join our Metals and Chemical Processing Team. You will be responsible for lead and/or to represent the sulphuric acid plant equipment packages during the project execution phase with end-to-end responsibility. Your role plays a crucial part in managing the technology basis for proposals, subcontracting and project execution in the respective field. This includes the interface handling to the project team, the design and process departments, the client, the engineering sub-contractors and the equipment (system) suppliers.. In this position, you will report to Head – MCP Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Knowledge in relevant international codes and standards
  • The ability to supervise engineering work
  • Willingness of international travel if necessary
  • Effective communication skills in English both verbally and written, knowledge of German language will be an advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 6 years experience in plant engineering, project engineering
  • Experience in Sulphuric acid plant equipment engineering.

Job Description

  • Leads 3rd party contractors on engineering execution
  • Act as lead engineer in Sulphuric acid plant projects
  • Defines technical requirements for the assigned equipment packages like static and rotating equipment and platework packages.
  • Strong focus on schedule and budget for assigned equipment packages
  • Leads information flow to other disciplines in the project
  • Coordinates between contractor, supplier, engineering manager, procurement, quality, logistics and other counterparts regarding the given package.
  • Participate in supplier selection process, e.g., tech. evaluation, negotiations
  • Review supplier documentation and plans and Provide manufacturing clearances.
  • Manage document flow to/from supplier and trouble shoot during execution
  • Provide technical support to QC team, TPI, to ensure delivered equipment meets the quality requirements.
  • End to End responsibility for assigned equipment including lessons learnt
