Engineering interns at Hinge Health are university students majoring in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, who join us for a 6 months to 1 year internship on highly collaborative, cross-functional teams.
During the internship, they actively participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to Hinge Health’s iOS, Android, and Web apps across various domains.
Interns work on small interdisciplinary teams focused on different parts of the user journey, where they build proof of concepts, extend well-tested APIs, contribute to new minor features, address tech debt, and support automation efforts.
They also share responsibility for maintaining healthy live site operations.
Each intern is supported by a dedicated manager and mentored by team members to help them grow their skills, become comfortable with our tech stack and workflows, and make meaningful contributions to team goals.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn one or more areas of our tech stack once you join: JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, React Native, Rails, Aptible, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML or related technical field
Demonstrated experience with multiple programming languages (Python, Typescript) and frameworks, along with knowledge of cloud technologies and distributed systems
Hands-on experience with AI and ML, along with exposure to working with LLM
Basic knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and database management
