Job Overview

  • The Battery Module Engineer is responsible for the design integration, configuration management, and validation of battery modules used in large-scale energy storage systems.
  • This role owns module BOMs and PLM data, defines electrical and thermal interfaces, and supports interface standardization across platforms.
  • The position works closely with thermal, systems, supply chain, manufacturing, and external test partners to deliver reliable, compliant, and scalable battery module solutions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in battery module, battery pack, or energy storage system engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, SolidWorks).
  • Solid understanding of high-power electrical interfaces and cross-functional product development.

Job Description

  • Own battery module BOMs and configuration data across development, qualification, and production using PLM systems.
  • Execute engineering change management (ECR/ECO) activities and ensure traceability across module variants.
  • Define and document module operating parameters in collaboration with thermal engineering, including temperature limits and cooling requirements.
  • Design and define electrical interfaces from battery module to battery pod, including power and signal connections, connector selection, pinouts, and current/voltage ratings.
  • Define battery module testing requirements and coordinate validation at third-party laboratories, including safety, performance, reliability, and compliance testing.
  • Support system-level integration and validation of electrical and thermal interfaces.
  • Partner with supply chain and sourcing teams to standardize mechanical and electrical interfaces across module platforms.
  • Drive component and interface commonality to reduce cost, complexity, and supply risk.
  • Support supplier technical reviews related to interfaces, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Contribute to module design guidelines, documentation, and best practices.
