Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer collaborates with a local team and global engineering team on product design of Contactors and Fuses which satisfy customer specifications. This process includes design, product validation, completing documentation and executing launch items for production. Complete all related drawings, documentations, and release in internal systems.
Lead/Guide junior design engineers to complete projects successfully.
Lead static, dynamic design, and analysis of electro-mechanical components
Performs design verification on original and/or derivative design by collecting empirical data through experimental methods. Manipulate and synthesize the data to make design recommendations based off on the testing
Leads feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Work closely with support personnel (technicians and drafting teams) in the preparation of detailed technology selection, conceptual design, detail design and prototyping
Coordinate failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations
Understands mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid, thermo and heat transfer
Working knowledge of Contactors, Relays and Fuses or experience in related electrical products.
Strong ability to read mechanical assembly drawings and GD&T
Proficient in FMEA and knowledge of at least one of problem-solving tools like Six Sigma Methodology, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, etc.
Basic understanding of test report, BOM interpretation, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) practiced at supplier end.
Experience in programming or working on CMM is an added advantage.
