Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field and 8 to 10 years relevant work experience required in mechanical machine design in the areas of: mining, oil & gas, construction or comminution equipment or heavy industry is required.  
  • High level of competency to include but not limited to, the use of the following engineering tools: SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, Siemens GPDM/Teamcenter, ANSYS, FeeMap, Mathcad, MATLAB.

Job Description

  • Compliance with all defined Roles, Responsibilities and Accountabilities (RRAs) as documented by the Comminution Technology Group for the assigned position.
  • Complete tasks assigned by supervisor and / or project lead engineer on time.
  • Responsible for planning their own work schedule to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Provide technical presentations, guidance and support to internal and external customers on analysis of complex application data, problem resolutions and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external decision makers (key customers and representatives, learning institutions, key sub-suppliers, professional organizations, community groups) to ensure their ongoing support for Weir Minerals Division business objectives.
