ABB is hiring for Mechanical Engineer | Senior R&D Engineer

• You are immersed in high performing R&D function in switchgear industry
• You have 5 to 10 years of experience in design and development of of Medium Voltage Vacuum Interrupters
• Highly adept in CAD software (Pro-E or Creo or SolidWorks)
• Bachelors or Masters in Electrical / Mechanical / Metallurgy engineering
• You are at ease communicating in English

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Distribution Solution division at Nashik, India.

• You will be mainly accountable for:
• Vacuum Interrupter concept generation, preparation of designs, drawings, Bill of material and associated procedures.
• Ability to perform or understand electromechanical, di-electric simulations. Prepare Vacuum Interrupter development and validation plan.
• Leading Vacuum Interrupter development projects and co-ordinate activities in collaboration with local factory team.
• Serves as a subject matter expert to the project, providing guidance to colleagues and junior team members, acting as a mentor, and sharing lessons learned.
