Job Overview

As an Electrical System Design Engineer in the Large Power System Division Controls Packaging group, you will have an opportunity to direct and participate in the design and development of controls systems for gas and diesel-powered generator sets.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A University Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or related electrical discipline
  • Experience in NPI (New Product Introduction), CPI (Current Product Improvement), Product maintenance or Cost Reduction design and development.
  • Experience in electrical design and ability to interpret engineering drawings - sound technical background and a good knowledge of current engineering drawing practice.
  • Strong leadership ability and good communications skills
  • Master’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience
  • High level of proficiency in Creo Parametric or other modeling or simulation tools
  • Experience working with basic sheet metal designs, including relevant knowledge in dimensioning and tolerances standards.
  • Experience completing structural analysis of mechanical designs
  • Experience working with power generation and/or power distribution systems
  • Controls system design experience
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working in a fast paced globally located teams

Job Description

  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to define, document and meet product design requirements.
  • Design, validate, and maintain generator set control panel designs, by supporting the product from the initial concept design, through the entire lifecycle of the product.
  • Resolve problems related to manufacturing at multiple worldwide generator set assembly facilities
  • Collaborate on design and product validation with multiple global suppliers
  • Develop and maintain detailed project and validation plans
  • Provide guidance to other engineers as required to ensure development schedules are met
  • Use technical expertise and product knowledge to resolve product quality issues by interfacing with engineers, service representatives, plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants
