Job Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of automotive Dash Cam IoT products.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing products from concept to release, ensuring their successful transition to production.
  • This role requires hands-on experience with plastic injection molded products, including preparing products for thermal, EMC, and environmental testing.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical package design, specifically in plastic injection molded products.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic and die-cast product design, as well as manufacturing processes for mid and high-volume production.
  • Proficiency with 3D solid modeling software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • Excellent understanding of electro-mechanical packaging, thermal management, and EMI considerations.
  • Familiarity with the IDF & ECAD-MCAD transfer process is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and assemblies.
  • Expertise in cable harnessing design and creation of associated drawings.
  • Ability to perform tolerance analysis and knowledge of DFM, DFA, and DFT principles.
  • Experience in product packaging design, development, and testing.
  • Knowledge of die-cast, sheet metal, machined parts, and rubber manufacturing processes is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with automotive environmental testing standards is a significant plus.
  • Proficient in PLM tools, including BOM structuring and the ECR/ECN process.
  • Expertise in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with electrical engineers, supply teams, vendors, and EMS partners.
  • Experience in material selection and manufacturing process optimization.
  • Familiarity with various automotive connectors is desirable.

Job Description

  • Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, coordinating with vendors and EMS partners, and creating product documentation, such as Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications.
  • The successful candidate should be self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with rapid product development cycles.
  • A background in tool room or complete product development, especially from NTTF, GTTC, or a similar institution, is a plus.
  • This position is based in Bangalore.
